Each handmade tile is (L)150mm (W)15mm (H)150mm and made from plaster of paris. They all have a cyanotype print of a classical portrait with engraved edited versions of the original images on top, creating a layered, fragmented rendering of beauty as depicted in classical sculpture.

This series is called 'Distorted Beauty'. Because of the process, the results are unpredictable as the images on the tiles develop and change over time. This process mirrors the relentless shift in beauty standards to which we are subjected too in this modern age.
